Apply for an account
In Norway, all bank customers must have a Norwegian national identification number (fødselsnummer) or a D-number. If you live abroad, but are intending to move to Norway, you will need to wait until you are in Norway to become a customer.

How to proceed:
To become a customer, you need to visit us in person at our branch located in Oslo. Please contact us to book an appointment.
You need to bring the following documents:
- Valid passport
- Documents showing your income in Norway (such as contract of employment, proof of student admission etc.)
- Documentation showing your Norwegian identity number or D-number
- Residence permit card (for citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA) or Registration certificate from the police.
- “Bestillingsskjema” and “Kundeerklæring”. The forms need to be filled in prior to visiting us.
By filling in your name and e-mail address below you will receive an e-mail with the forms “Bestillingsskjema” and “Kundeerklæring” enclosed.
Processing time for new applications is 8-12 weeks. You will be sent the agreements by post and they must be returned with your signature to activate the account and online banking.
Important information
According to Norwegian law, all Norwegian bank customers must have a Norwegian national identification number (fødselsnummer)/D number. You will need to apply for this number from Skatteetaten, the Norwegian tax authorities. Applications are usually processed within six weeks.
